We will focus on how Jesus changed the lives of the apostles and others.

Pastor’s class - Led by Pastor Jim Stumbo
This is to acquaint people with the church, and provide opportunity for new people to build some relationships in the church.

Young adult class - Led by Joyce Howard
This is a class for young adult singles and couples. Child care is provided.
Location: Gym

1 Peter - Led by Chris Thompson.
A Far Side cartoon ended with one of the characters saying to the other, “I’m not from this planet.”
The first verse of 1 Peter starts out, “Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ, to God’s elect, strangers in the world….” Strangers could be translated visitors, sojourners, exiles, people living for a short time in a country not their own. Scripturally, there is a real resemblance between Christians in this world and the guy in that cartoon.
The Apostle says, “Therefore, prepare your minds for action….” In the rest of the book he tells us how to live in light of our future: How to live with other Christians, how to manage sinful desires, how to bear injustice, how to treat a marriage partner, how to defeat fear, how to serve as an elder, all of this, even if we have not had the best examples growing up.
We’ll use the Navigator study guide called Life Change 1 Peter. It is available from the Christian book store ($9.99) or used on Amazon for $.01 plus $3.99 shipping (order one now so it arrives before class).

This is open to anyone, for prayer for the church’s ministry and specific needs.
